Remute

How to forward your phone line to Remute

Your customers keep calling the number they already know. You set forwarding with your carrier, and Remute answers the calls you send.

What it does

Forwarding sends calls from your existing number to Remute. There is no new number to print and no change for the people calling.

You choose when it applies: every call, only when you are busy, or only when you do not answer. Remute then answers in the caller's language with your business name and your rules.

Use cases

  • After hours

Forward only when you do not answer. The line is yours during the day and covered at night and on weekends.

  • Busy at the counter

Forward when busy so a second caller never hears a ring that goes nowhere.

  • Every call

Forward everything and let Remute be the front desk, with a summary and any urgent flag sent to you.

How to connect

Every carrier has a forwarding setting, usually a short code dialled from your phone. The app shows the steps for your setup.

  1. In Remute, open Numbers and add the line you want to forward.
  2. Verify the line: mobiles receive a 6-digit code by SMS, landlines receive it in a voice call.
  3. In your carrier's settings or with its code, forward the line to the Remute number shown in the app.
  4. Choose when to forward: always, when busy or when there is no answer.
  5. Call your own number from another phone and hear Remute pick up.

What changes

Forwarding is a carrier feature, so very little moves between systems.
